I am delighted to announce that since my son Thomas Rider joined the company as a junior partner in July 2014, we are now able to offer a garden maintenance service. This is for clients who have their gardens designed by us, and want some help with maintaining the new garden, as well as clients who want a maintenance only service. Thomas and I work together on maintenance jobs, so the client benefits from my 14 years of professional gardening experience, and my qualifications in horticulture.
During my time as a gardener, I have gained experience in a variety of gardens, and worked with a variety of clients, all with their own preferences and tastes. I now have an extensive knowledge of plants, their requirements and how to look after them. I have an RHS qualification in horticulture, and am passing that knowledge on to my son, which means you can be assured that your garden will receive the most appropriate and best possible care from us when we are asked to maintain it.
Whether you want regular maintenance, or some one off help with your garden, we can help with:
- all general vegetable, fruit and ornamental gardening tasks.
We work in a completely organic way and are happy to give clients advice about their gardens, such as identifying plants, what time of year to prune their shrubs, what plants might work well in a particular situation, how to make their garden more wildlife friendly, how to deal with weeds, or whatever their particular concerns are. We can provide written guides as well as verbal information, and have found this a good way of helping clients to gain confidence in managing their gardens themselves, where they want to.
We always work closely with the client to ensuring the service we provide is tailored to their individual requirements and their budget.
Please contact us if you are interested in our maintenance service.
Jane has been working for me since 2009, and since then she has been a great help to me in the garden, with many different tasks, especially pruning.
I have always been a keen gardener but got to the stage where I needed an extra pair of hands, and it’s lovely to work with someone who shares my passion for gardening. Her commitment and enthusiasm is uplifting.
Thomas joined her in 2014. He is helpful, hardworking and willing to learn – they make an excellent team.
Rosemary Rye (Hook Norton)
I am very grateful for all the hard work Jane and Thomas have put into looking after my garden. I just don’t have time to do it all myself and I know I can trust them to maintain it in a way that I like.
They always discuss their work with me, so that I benefit from their ideas and horticultural knowledge, but they are also sensitive to my opinions and tastes. They are imaginative, hardworking, reliable and conscientious.
I appreciate their organic and wildlife-friendly approach, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for garden maintenance.
Tana Wilson-Smith (Great Bourton)
Jane started gardening at our cottage around five years ago, following a recommendation from our neighbour in Hook Norton.
We have quite a variety of habitats in the garden including a large pond and bog area, as well as both formal and informal planted beds, and a variety of shrubs. As we were often in London during the week, it was wonderful to have someone trusted to take care of the garden and also keep an eye on the house.
Jane gardens organically and is very sensitive to the creatures, great and small, that share our garden with us. It was with this in mind that we asked Jane to redesign part of the garden with our idea of creating a natural and peaceful new space.
Jane has understood our needs well, and adapted her designs to our lifestyle. We are very excited by the new designs, have been happy with Jane’s work and can recommend her services.
